What GlitchGuard does

GlitchGuard is a Shopify app that watches a merchant's discounts and price rules in read-only mode and alerts the merchant to risky configurations or changes that could leak margin. It never changes, disables, or edits discounts.

Shopify API scopes

GlitchGuard requests only read_discounts and read_products. It does not request or receive access to orders, customer records, buyer information, or revenue data.

What we store

• Your store domain and the Shopify session/access token issued by Shopify.
• Your app settings, including rule toggles and alert thresholds.
• Discount baselines and alert records. These contain only discount configuration data, such as discount IDs, price rule IDs, discount values, dates, and whether a discount applies to gift cards.
• Your subscription status (managed through Shopify Billing).

We store no customer personal data: no emails, names, orders, buyer information, or customer records of any kind.

How we use it

Solely to operate the app: to evaluate discount configuration against the rules you enable, render the dashboard and alerts, manage your subscription, and respond to support requests. We do not sell or share your data, and we do not use it for advertising. We do not send your discount data to any third-party scoring service.

Data deletion (GDPR / CCPA)

We honor Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks. When you uninstall GlitchGuard or Shopify sends a shop-redact request, we permanently delete all data associated with your store. Customer-redact and customer-data-request webhooks are no-ops because GlitchGuard holds no customer data.

Subprocessors

We host the app on Vercel and store data in a Neon (PostgreSQL) database. Both process data only to provide the service.
